Everyone at Racing for Smiles, Inc. is geared up for the 2007 racing season. We started the season off with our 2nd trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Last year we did our first event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and it was a great success! That success was, in large part, due to the top notch Public Relations personnel at the speedway, and Las Vegas Limos, who donated transportation to and from the track for the Racing for Smiles'child and his parent. We will keep everyone up to date on upcoming events locally, and will soon have a story about our Racing for Smiles event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

What is Racing for Smiles

Racing for Smiles, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Late Model race car driver Sue Sutton. Sue and her family developed this program specifically to help make the dreams come true for many young race fans who are seriously ill with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses or injuries.

The children who participate in Racing for Smiles events are selected by the staff of local children's hospitals. The children are current or former patients of the hospitals. A majority of the children are ill with life-threatening forms of cancer. However, participation in the program is not restricted to terminally ill children. We also include children who have suffered serious injuries (i.e. burns, car accident injuries, etc.), or serious illnesses that were not necessarily life-threatening. Our goal is to provide the child and his family a day to remember; a day that has nothing to do with hospitals, doctors, or pain.

It is our hope that the next time any of the sponsored children have to go to the hospital to get a painful treatment, they can pull out their pictures and memories of their day at the track and remember a time filled with nothing but joy and happiness.
